Re: What's your favourite rig?

Ive had my Mk50II since 08' and it's still my main go to. Live I send 4 channels to FOH. Cornford is left channel @10 o'clock, Limelight Plexi is right channel @ 2 o'clock, and and Axe Fx Ultra is run direct hard left and right. Sounds absolutely mammoth.

Re: Too much high end in my mk50hII

If you haven't sold it yet, you may want to try this too. Try running your gain knob way back at like 3 or 4. Treble at 3 or 4 also, presence off with the overdrive set fairly high and a decent amount of volume...maybe 3. You get the sustain without all the dirty grind. I dont know for sure, but to ...

Re: Still Loving my Mk 50 II

I know the vintage 30's and pine cabs are the norm for Cornford owners, but Ive been using Scumback M75's and late 80's Greenbacks combined and the amp takes on a very different vibe....To my ears it sounds more classic...like a really well modded NMV amp. This amp responds better to things like gui...

Still Loving my Mk 50 II

Been using my Axe FX direct for my 3 piece band and my 80's synth pop band but fired up the MK for the Classic rock gig this weekend....Still pure bliss 4 years after my purchase. Thanks Cornford!

Re: New to the forum

Check ebay for the used prices. As far as the MK and Soldano similarities....Soldano's seem voiced more in the upper mids and do require a healthy dose of volume to get rid of the fizz...The MK sounds much better at a reasonable volume and is much more low mid oriented therefore the perception may b...

Re: Rack units & Mk50 ii

The loop on the MKII is great. Of course anything you put between the guitar and amp and the amp and the speaker is going to change/alter the sound a bit. I get a kick out of how many guitar players fuss over this though....the subtle changes in how the amp sounds when using the loop or pedals in fr...

165 gigs in 3 years. Not one failure. Treat it right and it will do you the same.

Re: New Mic....I'll never touch a Dynamic mic again

Very true on the "low end" comments Wally. Ive started a small business of helping guys dial in their rigs and the first thing I do is take half or more of their lows out and boost their mids. They get real fickle about it sounding "thin". Then I track them with their settings and then track them wi...

New Mic....I'll never touch a traditional dynamic mic again

For years Ive fought with finding a mic that truly captured the sound of my amps the way my ears do....my goal has always been to make them sound great without any or very little EQ or compression in the studio, and minimal EQ live ....I think I finally found it...the CAD Trion 7000....next to my 57...
