Re: Cornford MK50II Cabinet

Hello I have a mk50 and a Cornford 4x12 pine cab with vintage 30's also a Marshall 4x12 with the uk made greenbacks (20 watt). The Cornford cab is frontloaded the Marshall cab is rearloaded. The Cornford cab is more open sounding and helps with the v-30 peaky-ness. This is due to the pine and the fa...

Re: Got my cornford 4x12

Hey Don How have you been? Good to see some old faithful Cornheads still lurking in the forum. Thanks to you my MK 50 has never been better. What is the difference between the MK cab and the Rk cab? I wasn't sure what to expect with pine a cab. Next to my 7 year old Marshall 1960 vintage B, the Corn...

Got my cornford 4x12

I was in guitar center Hollywood yesterday, and I could not believe my eyes when I saw a blackface mk50 and two 4x12 cabs is the used gear section. I snagged one of the cabs to go with my blackface Mk50. I'm pretty stoked and it's in decent shape. I was very tempted to grab the head also but when I ...

MK 50 speaker

What's your favorite speaker for the MK50? I know it's voiced for a vintage 30. Im using v-30's in a marshall 4x12 and a Port City 2x12. I have a scumback m-75 in a Boogie Thiele 1x12, great speaker for recording. Thinking of trying some warehouse speakers, also interested in the Celestion heritage ...

Re: Used mk 50 black chassis

I have not noticed any strange poping or static in this amp at all. The one I have is an older one, I think built around 02 or 03. I have no idea how long these tubes have been in it. I have been trying to get some info on setting the bias to no avail. I have heard that the winged c's are an improve...

Re: Used mk 50 black chassis

Ok I received the amp last night and it looks killer in black face. It's a 9 out of 10 as far as the condition of the unit. I hooked it up through my 1960 4x12 straight cab with vintage 30s. Great tone with my Zion radicaster basswood hum single single. The lead tones sounded great but with a little...

Re: Used mk 50 black chassis

I love the dc30 but it is really thick and chimey and does not lend it's self to blistering solo work very well. It is great for country, classic rock and blues. With a tele it's heaven! I'm looking for a little different flavor to go with the Matchless. I will have the MK 50 in a couple of days. I ...

Re: Used mk 50 black chassis

They are $3000 US for a new one if you can find one. The US Distributor says that the price is going up to $3200 after the LA Namm show, $4k for the MK II. Its alot to spend but I have spent that much before on a Matchless DC30, and I did not regret it after I got my rig dialed in. Having Killer ton...
