Re: Winery Dogs

Saw him at O2 forum last Sunday night, sounded superb, especially compared to O2 Islington with the Fender with broken/no pedalboard !
Seen him 6 times now, the 12bar Swindon a few years ago and last Sunday night with the Cornfords certainly beat the rest for sonic nirvana.

Re: Adding reverb to MK50mkII

It's for live use, small rock clubs, just using backline. I prefer a more transparent hall type than a spring...i think.
So the MKII loops are -10db?

Adding reverb to MK50mkII

Anyone got any recommendations to add reverb to my MK50mkII? I like the TC Electronic Hall of Fame pedal judging from youtube clips. I had a Gsystem mk1 (i sold it on as the amp sounded so much better without it imho), this did cause severe channel switch clunking, so would consider SabbadiusUSA's m...

Re: MK50ii with 2x12 or 1x12?

I read an interesting article once about close miking, possibly general knowledge. I originally believed moving the mic towards the edge of a 12" picked up more bass as the tone of the speaker changed towards the edge. Apparently the speaker produces an even tone across the whole cone and the warmer...

Re: Endorsers jumping ship

I first saw RK live last year at the 12Bar with his Cornford rig and the sound was amazing, then this year at the O2 Islington with the Marshall rig, nowhere near as good to my ear. Mind you the PA wasn't great, massive sub, so the bass and kick slaughtered everything-why do they do that?! And didn'...

Re: 2x12 cab owners..elevated or not?

Most of my gigs are fairly large pubs (200 punters) vocal PA and guitar just backline. I fitted some Weber beam blockers on a 2x12 but found i got a great loud spread on stage maybe too loud without enough projection to the audience. I took them off, perhaps just one would have been the answer. Ther...

Re: My MK50II will be with me tomorrow

Yes mine is quite bright, i'm guessing some of this is burning in the valves and breaking in the 2x12 cab's vintage 30s. I also have a mkIII boogie combo with the EV 12" which doesn't really cream up til i'm on 6, but then you can't hear the drums anymore! I do like the same big bold 6L6s, one reaso...

Re: My MK50II will be with me tomorrow

Yay! yup, picked it up and a Cornford 2x12. Absolutely loving it and good timing as my band have just been in the studio starting a new E.P. just tracking drums and bass today though. It's now smiling at me and calling from the corner of my living room, but it's 2am and Edna next door probably would...
