I hope I can be forgiven for being sceptical.
As I understand it, without trademark protection, any other company could have started making 'Cornford' amps. I daresay neither the company nor SE could afford for that to happen. According to SE, they then made the registration with Paul's agreement.

Whichever 'version' of events is true (PC's or SE's), and whatever the "other background factors and issues which would not benefit with a public airing" are, I think both Gadget and Wally have done a great job keeping things ticking over.

Whatever the outcome, still love my Hellcat and Hurricane

Which Paul claims he knows nothing about, hence my comments.

SE wades in and the thread dies a death.

I realise we're all waiting on the "what happens next?" scenario but amazed a thread this busy and alive has suddenly seen no action in three days.

I guess that there's not a lot to say unless Paul/Toni give us some further insight into what happened from Paul's perspective.

...when you consider that both Paul & Martin have logged on to the forum several times SINCE the SE post, the silence is deafening.

I'm not surprised that none of the regular members wish to speculate further, since the SE post mentions monitoring the forum with a view to taking legal action against libel or slander.
Better not continue to speculate?

I've spent the last two hours starting at a long post which, in the end, I've just deleted. Even trying to be cautious and empathetic, I don't know what to say anymore - because, as the SE statement says, there are clearly other 'background factors & issues' that we're not being told - perhaps for good (or personal) reasons.

I've bought & owned a Carrera and an RH30H in the last 2 years - neither of which, it appears, ever went near Whitstable.
Both exceptional amps, apparently made at SE.
The Carrera didn't have Paul or Martin's signature on it, which peeves me a little, because I bought into the idea of a 'last, British boutique amp builder' with both Paul & Martin still actively involved.

At the end of the day, SE aren't making Cornford amps any more.
Unless he says different, Paul isn't going to be making Cornford amps (plus one assumes he'd need to be in touch with SE to resolve any company name & trademark ownership, even to make amps under the name 'Cornford').

Shit happened. Some of it we know about, some of it we don't. Even if SE & Paul Cornford make statements which are in agreement about whatever it was, it's not going to make a blind bit of difference to any of us now (save perhaps for the long term value of original, signed amps going up...).

Could the last person out please turn off the lights?

Have a think on it overnight, mate.

We're all still here and I'm sure Cornford's not all done yet - keep the faith!

I am going nowhere...I hope to see Cornford survive in the future...but either way I have my brood to look after and want to share my thoughts and experiences with others who use these wonderful amplifiers
