Hi Wally,

this is copied from rig talk.

From HCAF:

3. Earhart is a wicked sounding and well built amp. It was designed by a guy who really knows what he's doing and ... See point 2. Whether we end up putting his name on it or not, I dunno yet.
4. With regard to point 3, if that designer designed a similar amp for someone else, it would have been on the market at a higher price than what I announced at NAMM.
5. It'll be coming out of our Custom Shop for cabinetry. Probably the chassis will be limited to black but the user probably will be able to define the coverings and if it runs 6L6 or EL34 out of the box.

Blah blah blah.

sounds to me that the same designer works for two companies now, no?

One simple question:
Is Martin Kidd still on board of the Cornford boat – yes or no?

Cheers,
Kell

For anyone who missed the whole thing, that Rig Talk thread was linked on page one.

As for any further comment from the company: unless Martin comes on himself to explain the situation, alas I don't think we are likely to move beyond the statement Wally already made...

What's wrong with asking Paul Cornford for some explanations? Seems logical to me, or have I missed something? I mean, if we're members of this forum, then it stands to reason that we're all using products with his name on it, aren't we?

Paul?

There's nothing wrong with asking, I'm just suggesting there's little chance of an answer until whatever is going on behind the scenes is sorted-out.

Just to clarify on this topic (I know this thread is a few years old; came across it on a Google search), I have spoken with Martin Kidd and he has confirmed with me that the Earhart is the same as the MK50H II, but the Earhart does not have the secondary effects loop, and there may be a few component changes on the Earhart . I own the black Earhart and reached out to him curious about the build.

Having said that, the Earhart is an amazing beast of an amp. Unfortunately I don't have experience with a Conford to compare it to, but this amp just plain rips.
